The Transportation Research and Injury Prevention Centre (TRIP-Centre) at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, is organizing its 31st "International Course on Road Safety Audit, Road Construction Safety and Biomechanics & Crashworthiness" in New Delhi, India, from 22 November - 11 December 2021.
This 14 days Course spread over 3 weeks will bring together professionals working in the area of transportation planning, safety promotion, biomechanics of impact and vehicle crashworthiness, road construction safety and acquaint them with state-of-the-art information. The course is especially designed for an interdisciplinary audience of traffic and road engineers, behavioural scientists, mechanical and automotive engineers, law enforcers, and police officers. It focuses to give a global perspective on the road safety problem. The first three days will include a module for all participants, followed by three parallel sessions on road safety audit, biomechanics and crashworthiness and road construction safety.
Week 1 & 2: will be available for Online participation.
Week 3: will require mandatory "in person" participation only for Road Safety Auditors Certificate" after fulfilling the requirements as recommended by the Indian Road Congress (IRC). *(Submission of the practical audit report and a written exam).

The Course will have a limited number of participants who must have a working knowledge of English. The participants will be selected on the basis of their involvement in transportation planning and road safety research, involvement in policy making and implementation of safety measures. An attempt will be made to have a balanced mix of engineers, law enforcers, social scientists.
Transportation Research and Injury Prevention Centre (TRIP-Centre), Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
The faculty members associated with TRIP-Centre have been involved in safety research for the past two decades. The Institute has been designated as the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Safety Technology. The members of TRIP-Centre have expertise in epidemiological studies, designs of vehicles and safety equipment, traffic flow modelling, transportation planning and care of injured persons.

Module 3A - Road Safety Audit
i)Qualification for RSA course with IRC Certificate: The minimum requirement for attending the Certification Course is B.E / B.Tech. Degree in Civil Engineering
ii) The task of accreditation of an individual as Senior Auditor / Team Leader or Road Safety Auditor would be evaluated / scrutinized by the IRC’s main committee for Accreditation.
iii) IRC should carry out fresh exam/ evaluation of each candidate before issuance of accreditation.

Course Fee Payment:
After receiving the applications, the candidates will be shortlisted for course participation in particular "Road Safety Audit" Course. Selected candidates will be asked for course fee payment. The course fees should be paid in advance. Bank transfer details will be shared with the selected candidates for fee payment.

Lodging arrangements (basic) in a nearby hotel can be arranged at a cost.
